Connect with your team.
Start building a following by leveraging your LinkedIn Page.
Once you’ve created and optimized your nonprofit’s LinkedIn Page, it’s time to get the word out and grow your following.
Notify employees, board members, and volunteers.
Let your team know that your nonprofit now has a LinkedIn Page and encourage them to list it as their employer on LinkedIn. If they edit the “Experience” section of their profile and type in your nonprofit’s name, your organization’s Page will appear as an option in the drop-down menu. If they select and save it, your nonprofit’s logo will appear on their LinkedIn profile (including at the very top, if you’re their current employer). People will also be able to click through their profile to get straight to your nonprofit’s Page.
Invite them to follow.
If you’re an admin of your page, click “Share Page” and choose your preferred option to share with employees (ex: copying the link to share on your internal messaging platform or “Send in a message” to message them on LinkedIn).
Invite others in your network to follow.
Once you’ve shared with your internal teams, invite your entire network to follow your nonprofit’s LinkedIn Page.
• Add the “Follow on LinkedIn” plugin to your website.
• Click “Share Page” and then “Share in a post” from the Page to share the Page with your LinkedIn connections.
• Encourage employees to add a link to the Page in their email signature.
• Add a link to your LinkedIn Page in your nonprofit’s newsletter or other regular communications.
